On Tuesday January 21, 2025, Green College at UBC hosted a special lecture featuring Margaret F. (Meg) Gibson (Social Development Studies and Social Work, University of Waterloo), Julia Bullard (School of Information, UBC) and Hannah Kia (School of Social Work, UBC).
The panel discussed how ideas of social justice have changed over time and what that means for universities and social movements; how different generations have shaped and challenged what justice and equity mean, and how people work within institutions to push for change while avoiding regression.
