Intellectual disability
A conceptual history 1200-1900
Tim Stainton (Professor, UBC School of Social Work; Director, Centre for Inclusion and Citizenship) has a new book, co-edited with Patrick McDonagh (Department of English; Concordia University; founder, Spectrum Society for Community Living in Vancouver) and C.F. Goodey (Centre for Medical Humanities, University of Leicester). This book looks at the historical origins of our modern concepts of intellectual or learning disability.
