About

Dr. Bartolic is the Interim Director of the UBC School of Social Work and a Professor of Teaching in the Department of Sociology, where she previously served as Undergraduate Chair.

Dr. Bartolic’s research and teaching interests include family studies, sociology of health, and sociology pedagogy, with a particular focus on the scholarship of teaching and learning, distance and blended learning, and innovative approaches to education.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and French and a Master of Arts degree in Family Studies from the University of British Columbia (UBC). Prior to completing her doctoral studies, she worked as a Researcher in Distance Education and Psychiatry and as a sessional instructor in Family Studies at UBC. She later completed her PhD in Human Development and Family Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin and returned to UBC as a Sessional Instructor.
