March is Social Work Month

Celebrating Social Work Week

Social Work Week in British Columbia celebrates the accomplishments of social workers. The provincial government declared March 13-19, 2022, Social Work Week in British Columbia. Social workers throughout BC plan activities that highlight their essential contribution to the health and well-being of British Columbians. The theme for 2022 is In Critical Demand – Social Work is Essential. BCASW wishes you a Happy Social Work Week!

Days in the Lives of Social Workers

In the run up to BC Social Work Week (March 13-19, 2022) the BCASW will host four online sessions via Zoom, each featuring a different panel of professional social workers sharing their experiences of working in their chosen field. They will discuss the job they do and the challenges and rewards they face, describe a typical day, and respond to questions. The event, Days in the Lives of Social Workers, runs March 7-10 at 6pm. This is a free event provided for BC social work students, particularly those about to graduate and launch their career.
