Dean of Arts Dr. Clare Haru Crowston and Dr. Donna Baines
In May, the Faculty of Arts Dean’s Office hosted a reception to honour the 2024/25 Dean of Arts Faculty Research Award recipients. Among those recognized for her outstanding contributions to research was Dr. Donna Baines, Professor at the School of Social Work. The annual awards celebrate faculty who demonstrate excellence in teaching, research and community engagement across UBC.
Dr. Baines is also the co-editor of the recently published book International Handbook of Feminisms in Social Work, a global collection of feminist social work perspectives which brings together 52 chapters and feminist-engaged, equity and social justice aspirations of 108 authors from all corners of the world.
