Michael Smith Health Research BC has announced funding for 23 new Scholars and 14 Health Professional-Investigators for 2024. Established in 2001 in honor of BC’s first Nobel Laureate, Dr. Michael Smith, the organization aims to support early-career health researchers and advance world-class health research in the province.
The Scholar Program is a flagship initiative that has granted over 560 awards since its inception, helping to develop and retain top talent in BC’s health research community.
We congratulate Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim from the UBC School of Social Work, one of this year’s Michael Smith Scholar awardees.
