Congratulations to Assistant Professor Barbara Lee, Principal Investigator on the study Bridging Critical Social Work Education and Clinical Practice: A Design-Based Research Study Using Simulated Practice. This 5-year research funded by SSHRC (Social Sciences Humanities Council) aims to develop an empirically-informed theoretical model of clinical practice grounded in critical social work that will have utility and applicability to support marginalized clients.
This multi-phase, multi-site, mixed-methods Design-Based Research (DBR) is comprised of co-investigator Dr. Karen Sewell (Carleton University) and collaborators Dr. Kenta Asakura (Smith College), Dr. Hannah Kia (University of British Columbia), Dr. Magnus Mfoafo-M’Carthy (Wilfred Laurier University), Prof. Sarah Todd (Carleton University), Dr. Sarah Tarshis (Carleton University), and a Community Advisory Board (CAB) with representing agencies that work with diverse, marginalized communities in Vancouver, Toronto, and Ottawa.
