Congratulations to Barbara Lee, Assistant Professor, who was recently named as Co-Director of the Centre for the Study of Services to Children and Families.
The CSSCF was originally established in 2011 by Dr. Susan J. Wells, UBC-O professor emerita, with a Canadian Foundation for Innovation infrastructure grant, however, the CSSCF operated locally within the Okanagan campus with little connection to the Vancouver campus. In 2021, the CSSCF received a UBC Collaborative Research Mobility Award to bring together the two campuses to support the redevelopment and redesign of the CSSCF as a provincial hub for research and training related to child welfare services and outcomes for children, youth, and families.
In May 2022, Dr. Lee visited CSSCF on the Okanagan campus and brings the CSSCF nameplate to the Vancouver campus.
The CSSCF continues its mission to identify and support the development of evidence-informed policies, programs, and services aimed at improving the lives of children, youth, and families from diverse social contexts.
