Shameela Zaman is a social worker with the Fraser Health Authority. She has worked in clinics dedicated to supporting refugees, HIV+ clients and survivors of COVID-19. When supporting clients, she works from an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, and anti-racist perspective, recognizing and acknowledging that systemic oppression exists to further marginalize communities.

Shameela has completed her Masters of Social Work from the University of Windsor. Her professional interests include learning about trauma-informed, arts-based approaches to support clients, with a focus on writing as a form of healing.
