About
Dr. Mooly Wong, MSW, is an Honorary Research Associate at the UBC School of Social Work. Her academic journey, a testament to her unwavering passion for safeguarding vulnerable children and families, began with a Bachelor of Social Work in Hong Kong. She then honed her expertise with a post-graduate certificate in child protection from the University of Northumbria, UK, a Master of Arts in Family Counselling and Family Education, and a PhD in Social Welfare in Hong Kong.
Mooly served as an Assistant Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong before joining the faculty and was involved in research on Social Group Work, Child Welfare, and Family Studies. She has over 30 years of dedicated social work practice in Hong Kong, focusing on uplifting children, youth, and families. Now, back in Vancouver since 2021, Mooly channels her energy into projects and research on migrant and refugee settlement and integration, as well as teaching in fieldwork
education.
