We’re saddened to share that Elder Doris Fox has passed away. She was a beloved member of the Musqueam Nation, known for her healing work and dedication to her community. Elder Doris served on many boards, committees, and advisories, and worked at several health clinics in Vancouver. She was a member of the School’s Indigenous Advisory Circle, and she endlessly shared the love, guidance and wisdom with students, staff and faculty.
Doris used her training as a traditional healer to serve her people, offering comfort and support to those in need. She was also a skilled teacher, sharing the art of traditional Cedar Bark weaving and Salish Weaving with others. Her love for her community and her commitment to preserving cultural traditions will always be remembered.
A Celebration of Life will be held in her honour on Friday, May 24, 2024 at 11 am, at the Musqueam Community Centre.
