The School of Social Work is pleased to announce our upcoming Indigenous Speaker Series Event

Please join us as Charlotte (Salla) Sukow, Project Manager for Child and Family Jurisdiction for the Gwa’sala-‘Nakwaxda’xw Nation and Interim Director of Operations for the Galgapothla (Kwakwala for “to stand together, holding hands”) Society, discusses the process and success of jurisdictional negotiations with federal and provincial governments for child and family services for Gwa’sala-‘Nakwaxda’xw Nations on northern Vancouver Island, BC.

Everyone is welcome to attend this important event to learn about this necessary and long-sought-after transformation and the strength, resilience and wisdom of Indigenous communities as they reclaim their inherent right to exercise jurisdiction over child and family services.
