The School of Social Work and UBC are located on the unceded traditional territories of the Musqueam people. The School of Social Work at the University of British Columbia – Vancouver invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Instructor position to meet the current teaching needs of the School’s programs, beginning July 1, 2018.
Major selection criteria will include demonstration of a strong commitment to championing components in social work education relevant to Indigenous communities and clients; ability and commitment to teaching social work practice at the graduate and undergraduate levels; promise of educational leadership; interest in developing innovative pedagogical approaches; and current and extensive practice experience with Indigenous peoples. We seek applicants whose record demonstrates evidence of an ability to liaise effectively with Indigenous communities and organizations, as well as knowledge of the languages, cultures, and/or contemporary issues of Indigenous peoples. Area of practice is open but the School has interest in expanding its expertise in Child and Family, Health, Mental Health, Social and Community Development.
