To mark the 90th Anniversary of the School of Social Work we held a Symposium on Social Justice and an Ethic of Care – Feb 24 & 25. The Symposium opened with a keynote address from Prof. Christine Morley, Queensland University of Technology, Australia (details below). The Symposium continued the next day with research papers and panels from 9:00 am to 5 pm at Jack Bell School of Social Work, 2080 West Mall, UBC. Agenda and Abstracts can be found here. The event was co-sponsored with the Department of Applied Social Sciences, Hong Kong Polytechnic.
Keynote and Keynote Registration: Professor Christine Morley, Queensland University of Technology, spoke on “Reactivating Social Work Practice as an Emancipatory Project: The Role of Critical Theory, Pedagogy and Reflection”.
