Researching Dementia: Confessions of a Sociologist

**This colloquium has been cancelled. Please visit the CRPD website for more on future events.**

Part of the Colloquium Series from the Centre for Research on Personhood in Dementia, this colloquium is intended to provide an opportunity for open discussions amongst people with dementia and their family members, health professionals and researchers. It will take place at 2080 West Mall, the Jack Bell Building, Room 200.

The event will feature  Dr. Nicholas Jenkins, a Senior Lecturer in Sociology and Social Policy at the University of the West of Scotland. Dr. Jenkins will be speaking about his research activities conducted with people with dementia over the past three years to provide a ‘warts and all’ account of these participatory research processes. Discussion will focus, in particular, on the use of Theatre of the Oppressed methodologies to explore the shared experiences of families living with early onset dementia and on working with the Scottish Dementia Working Group to co-produce and implement a set of Core Principles for involving people with dementia in research.
